Why people are not placing a gender on babies when they are born? A baby born in British Columbia by the name of Searyl Doty broke the internet when she was born outside of the medical system and was not assigned a specific gender by her parents. He or She was not identified as male or female to try and prove that gender codes are wrong and that when the right age is reached, the child should identify their own gender. In my opinion, it is ridiculous to not do a genitalia check on the child on birth, and identify it's gender as male and female. I am not saying that parents should fear their sons playing with dolls or liking pink, however, they should allow their child the chance to grow up with an identity, for medical and emotional reasons.
